Cannot believe it has been 3 months since i have written, but what can i say? The dance world has been so busy!!!

On Thursday July 29th I performed at London’s infamous Planet Egypt for the 2nd time. I absolutely love this venue, the vibe is electric and i was come away buzzing. I performed 2 dances; “Zaphire of Love” and “Ya Sha-Eyya”, both went down well, and RDC’s Bonnie came with me for support.

After a couple of lazier months, September and October have been a complete whirlwind of excitement… On Friday 24th November, me and Bonnie performed at the Crowborough Arts Festival with Hossam, Serena and part of the Orchestra. I performed to “Aziza” for the 1st time, and this was my initiation into performing to live music. I loved the piece, so much so, that Il Nana will be working on it next.

A week later, i performed with the RDC at Planet Egypt for a Majma Exclusive evening. Again i did “Zaphire of love”, but also performed “Sahret Ghawazy” with Bonnie and drummed 2 pieces. Again, a fabulous night, poor Rachel had hurt her back, so was unable to dance, but she still drummed with us. We are all so excited about performing at Majma at the beginning of March 2011 – please see the website for booking details on www.majmadance.co.uk

Another week later, and me and Zaphira were performing at Arabesque Nights, another London showcase. Slightly more disastrous in that Sylvia and Iris couldn’t make it last minute, so i to dance 3 different people’s parts, how i didn’t go wrong was amazing! It was a good night out for the Zaphira girlies, who, as usual gave a blinding performance to “Khidni Habbi” (aka Packman).

Just a week later, and i am having the operation i have been talking about for the past 2 years…my tummy tuck. Technically, you would think, me being so ridiculously healthy that there would be no problems….I didn’t respond well to the Anaesthetic, and I ended up with a Haematoma, so stayed in hospital longer than planned. I was in so much pain, so sick, and the nausea when i came out lasted a week. A couple of weeks on, and i am feeling much better, but my stomach is so swollen, it looks like a football! I am hoping that as i gradually recover, things will get easier, and it won’t be long til am back dancing again. Please see the classes page for details on which teachers are covering which classes in my absence.

Finally, The Grand Harem Afternoon is booked for Sunday 28th November at Herstmonceux Village Hall, 2 til 5pm. Please contact me asap to book your performance slot, you can pre-order tickets for the event, or just turn up on the day. Remember, there will be coffees and cakes, performances, shopping and pampering. This is a women only event at £5 per ticket and kids are free. Why not bring along a friend or family member?

Any problems, ya all know where i am! Happy Dancingxx
