Hello everyone! On the gallery page I have posted a selection of pictures taken by Chris from Herstmonceux Hafla. His details for anyone interested in the photos is chrisparfitt@talktalk.net and can be viewed on the flickr website under Herstmonceux Hafla.
Last Thursday, Iris returned to Zaphira after her maternity leave from the troupe. Myst is now 9 weeks old and thriving, and the pair of them and Iris’s other daughter Fey are off to Iceland over the Easter weekend. Welcome back hunny, it won’t be long til you’re back into the swing of dancing again!
On Good Friday, Zaphira and 3 Il Nana members, (Fay, Karen and Jo) opened the festivities at the Lewes Arts and Awareness Festival, (www.worldance.org) despite every one of us getting lost on route! We performed a half hour set, including some dances that a couple of Zaphira members had not danced before to a warm and appreciative audience. For the finale, myself and Stefan, (the organiser) played drums whilst the girls and audience members danced. Some other participants even joined in with tambourines and djembes! Thanks to all you wonderful girls for your efforts!
This morning, I taught a taster workshop as part of the above festival and included students from as far afield as Oxford! The events were also to advertise local events and artists within the local area, which reminds me, I will soon be opening an evening class in Lewes on a Tuesday. Details will follow in the very near future!!!!
Am off to finish packing for Cyprus, please remember that there are no classes next week! See you all soon!!
