Happy Millenium!

Welcome to 2010!
And what a year we have to look forward to!
Last year, we ended with two events. The first, was the Sea Gypsies Bellyesque Hafla, hosted by local teacher Alison and with guest male bellydancer Shafeek, we had lots of fun dancing the night away and catching up with old friends. Well done to Al and the girls for their hard work and a thoroughly enjoyable night out!
Finally, we ended with the JWAAD annual Fantasia festival in London. I taught a sold out workshop in the afternoon, (which had followed a rather large lunch in addition to melt in the mouth cakes with the girls – not a good idea!) We then had zaphira performing in the professional show with ‘Derwood Green’, and my ‘Khatwet El Ghazala’ solo, which despite the exhaustion, went surprisingly well!
Christmas and New Year have gone by so fast, the house is looking ultra bare after the decorations have come down, and I am itching to get back into class and work off my excess xmas pounds and warm up my stiff achy joints!
Classes start back this week, 6th Jan, and we are looking at changing the times, moving everything half an hour earlier. This is so that Zaphira can join in the same evening. If this goes ahead, we will start after half term.
Which reminds me, THERE IS NO CLASS DURING HALF TERM – unless you’re Zaphira, who will continue as normal!
I will be shortly de-cluttering my second hand dance stuff, and will bring it to class probably early Feb, depending on when i get a chance to sort through it!
Following the success of Egyptian Nights II, in order to keep this event running now I am working alongside the classes, we have decided to form a committee to organise the next event. This will involve taking on roles within the group and meeting every couple of months, more regularly nearer the event which will be approx. late sept/early october 2010. The first meeting will be Monday 25th Jan from 7.30. Let me know if you would like to be involved!
Finally, we are looking for stall holders for our Grand Harem Afternoon on 4th July which I am hosting with Hip Syncs’ Chloe Dent. You do not need to pay for your stall and this will be great advertising for your business! I need names and numbers asap…details to follow…
There will be so many exciting events in 2010, i cannot contain myself, but I will let you know soon! Much love and happy dancingxxx
